In August 2016, Clarkston voters approved a $76 million bond proposal for the completion of safety, technology, and building projects across our district.
The 2016 bond has allowed the district to create secure entrances into all schools to limit the ability of visitors to walk into a school without going into the main office. Other safety projects: new camera systems, upgrades to elementary fire alarm systems, and improvements to vehicle and school bus traffic flow and parking. In addition, numerous technology updates are taking place throughout the district. Here's an overview of the construction projects that were completed this summer:
Early Childhood Center/Administration Building – Expansion of parking lot, reconfigured entry drive, and new exterior signage.
Renaissance High School – Addition of doors and windows to create a vestibule, new reception desk, and other finish upgrades in the main office and workroom.
Clarkston High School – Create secure entry vestibule with new door into office, new reception desks, meeting rooms, and other main office renovations. New electronic hardware and access control at main egress and entry points throughout building.
