The safety of our students is our number one priority. With that in mind, I want to give you further information about the incident that occured at one of our bus stops yesterday. (Our previous email about that incident is below.)
We received the Oakland County Sheriff's Department (OCSD) report this morning, and can share that the location of the suspicious driver was in the Eston Road area. Our administration and school resource officers are in touch with the OCSD, and we will provide updates as appropriate.
Again, we encourage you to have a conversation with your children about your family's safety plan. Some examples include:
- Stay with a group whenever possible.
- If a stranger offers you a ride, say "NO!" and stay far away from their car.
- Do not take things from strangers.
- Look for vehicles at every driveway and intersection on your walk to school or the bus stop. Look for drivers in parked cars.
- Tell a trusted adult if you're approached by a stranger.
As always, thank you for your partnership.

I apologize for the lateness of this communication, but I wanted to make you aware of some information we received this evening from the Oakland County Sheriff's Department (OCSD). Today, a student reported that while walking to her bus stop in our school district, a man gestured and called for her to get into his vehicle. According to the OCSD, the car is described as a white, newer model sedan with front end damage. The Sheriffs are investigating this matter, and will keep us informed of any new information should it arise. As we indicated in our earlier email, please remind your students to stay vigilant as they make their way to and from school.
Please call me at 248-623-5400 or your building principal if you have any questions.
