Dear Clarkston Community Schools Families,
We have a Thanksgiving tradition in my big family in which the youngest member (who can speak) says grace and gives thanks before we eat and it is always heartwarming (and sometimes even scary) the things kids say! They always speak from the heart and leave everyone with a smile and warm feeling. I hope you all have a way to feel this connection as well this Thanksgiving Day.
The world we live in doesn't always leave a lot of room for the rituals and traditions of the past. I think it's safe to say that our children's day-to-day experiences look a lot different from the childhood we remember – except for the traditions. Traditions are the common threads that tie one generation to the next.
Whether it's splitting the wishbone, sharing what you're thankful for, running a Turkey Trot, volunteering at a soup kitchen, praying for the Lions to win, or slipping into a food coma on the couch, I hope you enjoy the traditions that make your family's Thanksgiving memorable and special.
Clarkston Community Schools wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving. Today, and every day, we are thankful for YOU!
