CHS Drama Club Presents the Musical: Hairspray!

CHS Drama Club Presents the Musical: Hairspray!

It's Baltimore, 1962 and teen Tracy Turnblad is obsessed with the Corny Collins Show. After one of the stars of the show leaves, Corny Collins holds auditions to see who will be the next teen regular. With the help of her friend Seaweed, Tracy is chosen, angering evil dance queen Amber Von Tussle and her mother Velma. Tracy knows that it's not fair that black kids can only dance on the show once a month because of segregation. With the help of Seaweed, Link, Penny, Motormouth Maybelle, her father, and Edna, she's going to integrate the show ... all without denting her 'do!

The CHS Drama Club is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for our spring musical, "Hairspray," based on the New Line Cinema film by John Waters. Rated PG-13 for mature content.
