The award-winning Clarkston Community offers limited open-enrollment opportunities for students of all ages. Open enrollment in a participating program allows Oakland County residents outside of our district's boundaries to attend Clarkston Community Schools.

About the Music Certificate Program

The Clarkston music program is nationally recognized for its level of excellence, integrating leadership skills with the performing arts.  Our program is open to instrumental and vocal students who have a desire to develop their ability to be a leader and to become the best student performers they can possibly be.  Students will be involved in a rigorous program that  both pushes and encourages students to achieve at their highest level.  The skills you will learn as a member of our music program are the same skills that will make you a successful individual no matter what career path you choose. Advanced Studies Program

About Advanced Studies

The Advanced Studies Program and Diploma Endorsement is designed for students who wish to participate in a continuously rigorous, challenging academic program that will lead to an Advanced Studies Program endorsement at the end of the senior year. Learn more.

Monday, April 22, 2019 to Friday, August 9, 2019 at 3pm. Program open to Oakland County and Contiguous County residents.

There are two applications, one for Advanced Studies and one for the School of Choice. You must complete them both.

Gymnastics Magnet Program

Entering Grades 4-12

About Stars & Stripes

The Gymnastics Magnet program is a joint venture between Clarkston Community Schools and Stars & Stripes Gymnastics Academy. The main objective of the program is to assist athletes in the process of reaching the highest levels of the sport by integrating the regular school day at Clarkston Community Schools with gymnastics training at Stars & Stripes Gymnastics Academy. The Magnet Program provides a unique academic experience for talented athletes who have achieved junior Olympic level 5 or above. The program is offered to athletes meeting the athletic criteria at Andersonville Elementary (4th and 5th grade), Clarkston Junior High and Clarkston High School. Athletes are transported to Stars & Stripes for the last portion of the school day where they will continue to train another 4 hours (after the close of the traditional school day). Learn More.

Tuesday, July 9, 2019 to  Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 3pm. Program open to Oakland County residents.

When applications are released on July 9, complete both the School of Choice application and program application. If your child is accepted into the program, you will be notified and must make an appointment to enroll him or her with the district. Please visit the enrollment area for enrollment forms and to book an appointment.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

CSMTech Academy Program

Entering Grades 9-12

About CSMTech

CSMTech was founded in 1994, and now enjoys more than 20 years of growth and development. It is a science, mathematics and technology academy (STEM program), where learning is celebrated! It is an integrated program with acceleration within the courses. Students learn technology tools in 9th and 10th grades which carry them through the four-year program. Math and the sciences are taught in an integrated curriculum, demonstrating real world applications and connections. Students who attend this program are excited about math and science and love the atmosphere, that "learning is cool." Learn more.

If your child is accepted into the program, you will be notified and must make an appointment to enroll him or her with the district. Please visit the enrollment area for enrollment forms and to book an appointment.

If you fail to complete the new student enrollment process within the timeline provided, your child will be automatically dropped from the open enrollment program.

YOUNG FIVES & KINDERGARTEN

The Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education has unanimously approved the district’s plan to create open-enrollment (“school-of-choice”) Kindergarten and Young Fives opportunities for the 2019-2020 school year. Under this plan, students who reside outside of district boundaries are now eligible to enroll in Clarkston Community Schools for Kindergarten and Young Fives and continue with the district throughout their academic career.  Applications accepted Monday, July 15 through Thursday, August 8. More information coming soon! 

Online and BLENDED Program — Grades K-12

Families may choose from complete online schooling or a blended schedule (in school and online). Inquire today! Email bipambid@clarkston.k12.mi.us.

Renaissance Alternative High School — Grades 9-12

Students receive individualized attention and support in small classes and earn a Clarkston High School diploma once they have met the graduation requirements. Inquire today!

Open-enrollment placement will be determined on a space-available, program-by-program basis. Each participating open-enrollment program may choose whether or not to accept students for the next school year. Discipline and other considerations are factors in granting open enrollment requests. Denied candidates may re-submit a request at the next open enrollment application period. Parents of open-enrollment students are responsible for transportation to and from school.
