About Kindergarten & Young Fives

The Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education has unanimously approved the district’s plan to create open-enrollment (“school-of-choice”) Kindergarten and Young Fives opportunities for the 2019-2020 school year. Under this plan, students who reside outside of district boundaries within Oakland County are now eligible to enroll in Clarkston Community Schools for Kindergarten and Young Fives.
Upon acceptance to the program, students will be placed by the district in one of our seven elementary schools, and will stay in that elementary school before continuing with the district throughout their academic career.
Applications accepted Wednesday, July 10 through Thursday, August 8.

What happens now?
If your child is accepted into the program, you will be notified within two weeks of the application deadline and must make an appointment to enroll him or her with the district.

The Advanced Studies Program and Diploma Endorsement is designed for students who wish to participate in a continuously rigorous, challenging academic program that will lead to an Advanced Studies Program endorsement at the end of the senior year. Learn more.

About the Honors Music Certificate Program
Honors Music Certificate Program
The Clarkston music program is nationally recognized for its level of excellence, integrating leadership skills with the performing arts. Our focus is on: service to the program, outside training, growth over time, and skill achievement. Our honors music certificate program is open to instrumental and vocal students in grades 6-12 who have a desire to develop their ability to be a leader and to become the best student performers they can possibly be. Students will be involved in a rigorous program that both pushes and encourages students to achieve at their highest level. At the completion of the four-year program, students will earn a certificate and graduation cords to showcase their achievement.
The Music Certificate Award Program is open to all Clarkston Community Schools music students, and out-of-district students who meet admission requirements. CSMTech Academy Program

About CSMTech
CSMTech was founded in 1994, and now enjoys more than 20 years of growth and development. It is a science, mathematics and technology academy (STEM program), where learning is celebrated! It is an integrated program with acceleration within the courses. Students learn technology tools in 9th and 10th grades which carry them through the four-year program. Math and the sciences are taught in an integrated curriculum, demonstrating real world applications and connections.
