Be The Light
DEAR CLARKSTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FAMILIES,
As many of our community members continue to support one another during this challenging time, we would like to contribute to that support with uplifting messages of hope and gratitude. We started this year by encouraging our staff to “Be The Light” for others, and now, we are offering you and your family an opportunity to do the same.
How to “Be the Light”
Please join our combined efforts to “Be the Light” by working with your children to create a letter or a picture of thanks, hope, or encouragement for essential workers and those in need. Clarkston Community Schools staff will be collecting these items electronically and forwarding them to hospitals, fire stations, grocery stores, post offices, warehouses, etc. Below are instructions to help you prepare your letter or picture.
- First, start with a piece of white 8 ½”x 11” paper.
- Your letter/picture will need to be scanned so it can be sent electronically (see below) and printed locally.
- You are encouraged to be colorful in your design.
- Your words and pictures should be thankful, encouraging, or hopeful.
- Your note should have a target recipient from one of the groups below, based on your grade level.
- Scan and email to BeTheLight@clarkston.k12.mi.us
Your letter or picture can be sent anonymously, or you can include your first name only, school, and age if you like (please remember the letters and pictures may be shared on our website and/or social media channels, so please no last names or contact information for children).
Thank you in advance for your participation! While staying home can feel isolating, we hope that this project makes everyone - including you and your family - feel a little less alone.
Sincerely,
Staci Puzio
