Meaningful Engagement through Virtual Channels

We will continue to monitor and adjust this experience as time goes on.  We will seek your feedback  as we embrace this journey together.

We are moving forward with planning Clarkston’s Virtual At-Home Learning experience for students (ECC through grade 12)  in order to continue teaching and learning in Clarkston during this unprecedented time.

We understand and acknowledge that we will do our very best to meet the needs of our diverse student population for an extended period of time. We are committed to doing our best.  We will remain flexible. We recognize this could feel uncomfortable for some.

The well-being of our students, families, and staff is our top priority.  We are going to take this slow and steady.  It is important to keep in mind that our families are in very different places (let’s be mindful of the thinking and professional learning we teachers have experienced regarding avoiding jargon).  We are aiming for simple, succinct, and clear communication with our students and families. Clarkston Virtual At-Home Learning will evolve over time.

If at any time you feel a counselor or social worker is needed to assist a student, a family, or a colleague, please reach out to your building principal, building counselor or social work staff.

Be assured you are supported

Our goal is to move learning forward in a thoughtful way.  You have supports surrounding you (grade-level or content area teams, Literacy Coaches, ITs, SACs, Administrators, and the resources found here on this website).

We must understand that our “regular classroom experience” will look different for Clarkston Virtual At-Home Learning.  Our style of instruction must change.  This may require new learning for all of us. Students will engage with topic-related content and skills in a variety of ways.

We will continue to monitor and adjust this experience as time goes on.  We will seek your feedback  as we embrace this journey together.
