Learning Commons
Students enjoy a quiet study area, flexible work stations for small and large groups, an extensive print and digital resource library, and an ever-growing collection of instructional technologies. Our Learning Commons is staffed by a full-time Media Technician with guidance from a certified Media Specialist. The Media Tech in each elementary Learning Commons provides essential technology and literacy support for both students and staff.
Literacy Programs through the Learning Commons
- Birthday Book Club - This program is one in which you can celebrate your child's birthday in a special way and help grow your school's library collection.
- Scholastic Book Fair - An annual event that is held once a year where families are able to purchase books. All purchases directly support your library!
- Battle of the Books - An exciting program that encourages a love of books and reading. Teams of fourth and/or fifth graders will read books and then compete in battles to answer the questions in a quiz show format. The battle program begins in December and concludes in March.
Hours of Operation
The Learning Commons is open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on school days.

Overdue Policies
- We do not charge overdue fines. However, if a book is lost or damaged, we charge a fee to repair or replace it. Please read the overdue notices carefully. We try to issue those notices once a month.
- Sometimes books are lost and paid for, only to be found later. If the item is returned to the learning commons prior to September 15 of the following school year, a refund will be issued. Books returned after that date will not be refunded, as the money will have been used toward a replacement book.
