Jaclyn Sivers Appointed to the Board of Education

Board of Education Appointment

On the evening of August 28, the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education voted to appoint Jaclyn Sivers to fill the vacancy left by former Board Trustee Kelli Horst. “Mrs. Sivers’ professional background and passion for public service prove that she will be a strong advocate for our students and families, and we look forward to collaborating with her on the Board of Education,” said Board President Greg Need.

A total of 12 individuals were interviewed in a public meeting last night. “We had an excellent pool of candidates,” said President Need. “It speaks volumes about our community to have so many talented individuals who believe in public education and Clarkston Community Schools. I hope those not selected stay involved in our schools. There are many ways to contribute.”

“It is truly an honor to be selected as the newest member of the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education,” said Jaclyn Sivers. “I look forward to working with this dynamic team to ensure all children in our community receive an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. As a mom of two young kids, my priority will always be the students and their safety.”

Mrs. Sivers and her husband have two children who attend Bailey Lake Elementary School. She is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, Juvenile Justice Division. Sivers is also an active volunteer in the district through the Bailey Lake PTA, Girl Scouts, and CHS Career Day. Her term is effective immediately and will run through December 31, 2024.

The next regular Board of Education meeting is at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023. The Clarkston Community Schools Board Office is located at 6389 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, MI 48346.
