Greg Need Appointed to the Board of Education

Board of Education Appointment

On the evening of March 22, the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education voted to appoint Greg Need to fill the vacancy left by former Board Trustee Andrea Catalina. “Mr. Need has proven to be a strong advocate for our students, families and school district for many years, and we are looking forward to once again collaborating with him on the Board of Education,” said Board President Kelli Horst.

A total of 12 individuals were interviewed in a public meeting last night. “It was wonderful to see how many community members were interested in serving on the Board,” said President Horst. “All candidates offered something unique and admirable. I hope those not selected will continue to be champions for our school district.”

“I am honored that I have been selected to once again serve on the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education,” said Greg Need. “I look forward to continuing the district’s efforts to ensure all students in our community receive an excellent education.”

Mr. Need has been a district resident for 30 years, and both of his children are Clarkston High School graduates. He previously served on the Board of Education for nearly eight years, from 2015 through 2022. His term is effective immediately and will run through December 31, 2024.

The next regular Board of Education meetings are at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, and Monday, April 10, 2023.
