From the Superintendent: It's been a great year!

Have a safe and fun filled sumer

Dear CCS Families,

It’s here, the last day of school! I’m not sure if it’s my age, but I feel like the years keep moving faster. While there were some challenges along the way, I believe it was a fantastic year filled with student and staff success. I genuinely hope you feel the same.

There is so much going well in Clarkston. The best part of my job is to take a step back and admire what makes this district second to none - the people. Witnessing the passion and innovation among our staff, celebrating with our students as they reach their personal goals, and admiring the collaborative relationships that make all of this possible is just the beginning.

We have seen the positive impact of strong staff and student relationships on academics and well-being and are investing in what is working. In addition to the support already in place at our Early Childhood Center and elementary schools, we are adding several new positions to our secondary team in the fall. Positions include three new counseling positions (SMS, CJHS, CHS), a career development facilitator (CHS), a general education social worker (CHS), and two positive behavior interventionists (SMS & CJHS). Our goal with these additional positions is to reach our goal of ensuring each student has someone, a trusted adult, that can help them through difficult times and discover who they are and what they want to do with their future.

I know that next year is going to be even better! But before that, there is something I wish for all of you - a very safe and fun-filled summer vacation!

See you in August!

Dr. Shawn Ryan
