Building a Safe Future

Our commitment to safety is unwavering. While our safety and security review last year gave us a favorable report, we know the work is never done. Clarkson's safety committee meets regularly to analyze our current practices and procedures, grounds, buildings, and equipment. The team also reviews best practices from schools nationwide to determine what safety enhancements could benefit our school community.

As our efforts continue, here are some of the recent safety projects and implementations. 

• Substitute Teacher Safety Plans have been created and distributed

• Each building is equipped with emergency response trauma bags are 

• Increase the number of walkie-talkies throughout the district

• The promotion of safe gun storage with the passage of the SMART Gun Storage resolution

• All support staff are trained in Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines

• A new general education social worker position at the high school.

• New building maps are in production for each of our schools

• Maintaining a strong relationship with our three School Resource Officers and working closely with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office substations.

• Increased monitoring services for our students’ Google Suite activity
