Welcome to the Special Education Department at Clarkston High School. If you would like more information on services and programs available for students with disabilities please feel free to contact me.
My name is Tamera Conwell, I am a 1989 Clarkston graduate that went on to earn my bachelor's of Liberal Arts in Social Studies/Teaching from the University of Texas (El Paso) UTEP. After teaching and coaching cheerleading in El Paso for two years I went to live with my husband in South Korea where I taught English to elementary students. After returning to the states I taught Computers, Math, and Health in Brandon. Finally, I made my way back to Clarkston where I have been teaching various subjects through the special education department for the past twelve years in addition to coaching cheerleading and a class sponsor. I earned my master's degree at Oakland University in Special Education, submitted my portfolio to teach Language Arts and am in the process of completing my Education Specialist degree from Oakland University. I enjoy spending time watching movies, exercising, and traveling with my family, husband (he teachs computer science for Clarkston) and my two children, Logan a 6th grader at SMS and Emma a 2nd grader at SPE.
