Oakland Press Covers PKE Walk to School Day Check out the Oakland Press story and video of our Walk to School Day below! Several hundred parents and elementary school children made their way down Sashabaw Road in Independence Township Wednesday on their way to school as part of the "National Walk to School Day." The group met at the corner of Waldon and Sashabaw roads and walked to Pine Knob Elementary School. The nationwide walk is to promote physical fitness.
