School Bus Safety

At the beginning of the 2009 - 2010 school year, students in Mrs. Bills' class observed inappropriate behavior on the school bus. They were concerned not only because of their own bus experiences, but also because they were kindergarten helpers. This job involves helping kindergartners prepare to leave school and safely board the bus ahead of the other students in the school. The class of fourth and fifth graders expressed a desire to try and do something to help change bus behavior and enthusiastically came up with online activities and a series of interactive skits that they performed at a school-wide meeting in the fall. With the help of media specialist, Mrs. Crossland, their work is now accessible across the district.
