My name is Sandy Gallivan. I have had the pleasure of teaching children at Clarkston Elementary School for the past thirteen years. What a wonderful community I work in!
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University in 1992. I recieved my master's degree in Information Science from the University of Michigan in 1995. Go BLUE! I was a media specialist at Clarkston Elementary for 11 years. Last year I had the pleasure to teach a wonderful group of fourth graders. I feel very lucky and excited to be teaching this grade level again! I can't wait to meet your child in September.
My teaching philosophy is dependent on your child's abilities and needs. The curriculum is given to me and I mold it to fit your son or daughter. I will do my best to meet each student at their level and support them as they grow academically and socially.
A greater part of this growth comes from our parent, teacher, student relationship. There is an open door policy in our room. Please feel free to contact me whenever you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your child's progress. I will work hard to keep you informed of our lessons in various subject areas through a weekly newsletter. Please take some time to refer to it each week for upcoming events, homework assignments, and other important information.
I know that Team Gallivan families and students will have the BEST YEAR EVER!
