Clarkston Gridders Gear Up for a Cause at Well Attended Blue Pink Game

CLARKSTON - There were some pink panthers prowling around the Clarkston gridiron Saturday evening.  For the fifth year in a row the Clarkston High School football team held a "Pink Game" to act as their preseason intra-squad scrimmage and raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.  The squad broke into "Pink" and "Blue," teams and each player wore the name of a person close to them touched by the disease stenciled across the back of their jerseys. 2010 Football for a Cure


Beginning in 2009 the Clarkston Varsity Football Team has partnered with the McLaren Health Center to benefit both the Great Lakes Cancer Insitute and the McLaren Breast Center in Clarkston. Since then the Clarkston Wolves have raised $15,000 to help with cancer research.

CLARKSTON--Clarkston High School’s varsity football team will trade their regular blue and gold school colors during this Saturday’s game for periwinkle pink and powder blue jerseys. The special jerseys are being sported for a good cause — raising funds to fight cancer. Read more...
