North Sashabaw Elementary has several projects underway as part of our district's Academic Service Learning program. This program empowers teachers and their students to undertake projects that combine service ( helping others) and learning - tying the projects to school subjects. Part of our mission at NSE is "going green." Last year North Sashabaw earned "Emerald" status from Michigan Green Schools. We have worked hard to achieve this status and it is an on-going process to maintain it. On December 17, Mrs. Krause arranged for all of the leftover food and milk from all of our elementary schools to be delivered to NSE. She had contacted Forgotten Harvest, a local organization that feeds the hungry. They came at the end of the day with a truck and picked up all of the food.
