The School Social Worker supports students' social, behavioral and emotional progress within the educational environment. They provide direct or consultative support through a variety of methods to both at-risk students and to those receiving special education services. These may include individual and group work with students, evaluation of behavioral needs and disorders, crisis interventin, develpment and implementation of behavior intervention plans, and inclusion-based peer support system development and maintenance. School social workers are members of their building teams and serve as resources for educational staff and parents as well as liaisons between home, school and community resources.
