![]() About Mrs. Giovas California I began my teaching career in California shortly after graduating from the University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Social Ecology. At that time, I taught 5th and 6th graders science at an Outdoor School in the redwoods near Monterey, California. After a little over a year of teaching at the Outdoor School, I went back to school for a full year in a Teacher Education program at California State University, Hayward. That fall, I was hired to teach 4th grade in Concord, California. The following year, I taught a 4th/5th grade split at the same school. Arizona The next year, we moved to Arizona and I was hired to teach 4th grade. I taught at my school in Glendale, Arizona for a total of 6 years in 3rd, 4th, 4th/5th multi-age and 6th grade. In 1996, I married my husband, Nick. Our son Christopher was born in 1997, followed by his brother Timothy in 1999. I completed my Master's degree in Elementary Education in 1999. Michigan When we moved to the Detroit area, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom until both boys were in school full time. Once my younger son was in kindergarten, I became a guest teacher in Clarkston where I subbed for two years. Then in 2008, I was hired to teach 3rd grade. I taught 3rd grade for three years at North Sashabaw. I am thrilled to be starting my second year at Pine Knob! Thank you for all of your support thus far. It has been a long journey, but I am so glad it has led me here. |
