September 6, 2011

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the first day of school! There are a few things to be aware of right away. Each day we have snack and ask that students bring in peanut-free, HEALTHY snacks such as crackers, pretzels, cheese, fruit etc. Your child will have many opportunities to enjoy other "yummies" throughout the year. In addition, your child may bring a water bottle to keep at their desk.

Students will begin bringing home their binder and planner. Some important things to know are:

  • the planner will communicate behavior as needed

  • the planner will have our daily plan

  • both the planner and binder will need to be brought to school daily

  • the planner should be signed by a parent daily

  • the binder will have notes and homework in the back pocket

Also, this week we are collecting emergency cards. If you have not done so, please fill out your child’s emergency cards and return them ASAP.

"Special" classes will begin this week. It is important that your child has his/her name shirt and shoes for gym.

I appreciate your support. I look forward to seeing you September 15th at Curriculum Night. This evening is to help you have a better understanding of your child's school environment. This is going to be a very busy and wonderful year!

Sincerely,

Joy Kearney
