Mr. Breen

As your child will be spending a significant number of hours with me this school year, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and inform you of some of my personal thoughts.

My name is Kevin Breen and I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Visual Arts Education.

I have an extreme love of passing on the information I have acquired over my lifetime. This is why teaching is a passion of mine.  I have a certification to teach fly casting through the Federation of Fly Fishers.  Currently, I am the head coach for the High School Girls cross country team. I also coach the CHS girls track team during the spring season.

As excited as I am for the opportunity to participate in the outstanding athletic programs Clarkston schools provides, it doesn't compare to my extreme love and passion I have for the arts. The arts helps to enrich our everyday lives.  Not one of us can go more than a couple of steps without noticing someone else's artwork, whether it's a logo, advertisement, mural on the side of a building, or the paintings we find within the walls of a museum or our own homes.  Art enriches every part of our life.  My purpose in the Art classroom is to pass on this love and knowledge I have gained with my students. All my lessons incorporate the Elements and Principles of design as a way to deliver to the students the necessary building blocks to create art and to prepare them for future art classes.  It is also my mission to introduce many different media and encourage each student to explore and express themselves in the artwork created in and out of class.
